WHAT IT IS:  My company is rewarding you for going after your health and fitness goals in the New Year! If you purchase a program & Shakeology, you will get access to my challenge group that will be run through an app on your cell phone. We kick off on January 9th.  You’ll be logging at least five Shakeology’s a week with pictures and at least 3 workouts a week– you can get a cut of the $3 million pot.

Goal Digger of the Month: Samantha Rockin’ Her Beach Body!

I’ve decided to do a transformation series on this blog, because these stories inspire me and overload my love tank every single day! Sam was one of my first customers. When we started chatting about her goals she explained to me that she wanted to tone up before her upcoming trip to Florida. Based on her goals and her current routine we hooked her up with Beachbody’s 21 Day Fix EXTREME challenge pack.

If you want to talk about committing to a program….Sam is a PERFECT example of what I mean. This girl knows the nutrition plan front to back, asks questions when she has them, drinks Shakeology daily, and crushes the workouts every. single. day.

Throughout her first round of the program she’d tell me how good she was feeling and that she was loving her results. Still, when she shared this before and after picture I was blown away. I mean, seriously…BEACH BABE, am I right?? She lost 10 pounds and gained lean muscle. You can feel her confidence shining through in that second picture. I also want to share with you that Sam’s journey to health didn’t just start in February. Since June 2013 this inspiring woman has lost 50 pounds. 50 pounds, people! She took the first step, hasn’t looked back, and so can you.

This is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. Yes, you lose weight and inches, but this is about SO much more than that too. It’s about taking back control of your health with knowledge and workouts that empower you to be the best version of you.

Sam quickly became a coach as soon as she started to feel those waves of change ripple through her. Now she’s helping others along their health and fitness journey. Nothing worth having ever comes easy. Sam WORKS for it. And that’s what makes her success that much sweeter. I couldn’t be more proud to have her in my life or on my team of coaches.

Yoga Rebels Wated

I’ve been a yoga girl for over a decade now and it’s helped me on so many different levels. I’m an anxious person…always have been! Even as a kid I’ve always reacted to situations with super strong emotions that easily overwhelmed me. Yoga helps me to calm down, refocus and get centered.

However, something in me has shifted since I endured two months of bed-rest when I was pregnant with the twins. I was stuck on my back for SO long. I couldn’t do all of the things that I loved doing as a stay-at-home mom. I couldn’t grocery shop or cook for my family. I couldn’t run around or swim with my son. I get teary eyed thinking about the nights I spent in the hospital and my son crying to me on Facetime because he wanted mommy home to snuggle with him.

So naturally, once I had the twins it was like this feeling of being released from a cage and now all I want to do is MOVE! I still need flexibility, but I have a really hard time BEING STILL. Kind of important for yoga, right?

Enter PiYo! This exercise program has built a bridge between what I love about Yoga and my need to be constantly moving. Not to mention it’s introduced me to muscles that I never knew I had. It’s a perfect combination of yoga, pilates and cardio.

Thin Mint Shamrock Shakeology

No visits to McDonalds today for my family! I blended up a batch of chocolate Shakeology today that tastes just like Girl Scout thin mint cookies! I added the recipe on the picture of my little buddy enjoying his St. Patty’s Day shake. I actually used Young Living Peppermint essential oil instead of mint extract, but I know not everyone has that on hand.

Let’s compare, shall we?

88 g carbs (74g sugars; 0g dietary fiber)
Loaded with artificial flavors, high fructose corn syrup, and other ingredients I can’t even pronounce.

18 g protein
4.5 g fat
17 carbs (6g sugars)
…All natural with 70 different ingredients including super fruits and vegetables.
My choice is clear 🙂

Welcome to my office. I just sat down with one of my 21 Day Fix challengers to help her plan out her first week of meals, snacks, Shakeology and workouts. We went through her likes, her dislikes, her worries and her motivations. Nearing the end of our hour together she looked down at her meal plan kind of surprised and said, “Lindsay, I can do this!” To which I replied, “Of course, you can.”

A couple of months ago I would have been shakin’ in my boots and doubting my ability to help anyone on their health and fitness journey. I mean, who did I think I was anyways? I was just a health enthusiast. Reading articles, working out and blogging heathy recipes was a hobby. Sure, it would nice to make a job out of it someday, but I’m not qualified to do that.

I might not have a degree in nutrition and I’m not a certified personal trainer, but I am a great coach and leader. I have a lifetime of experience being that. I’m building a team of dream chasers and helping others crush their health goals. All because I made the decision to get out of my comfort zone and buy a Beachbody program. Regardless of what change you want to make in your life, every great accomplishment starts with the decision to try.

When I greeted my friend at the door she apologized for taking up time on our Sunday. Taking up time to do something that fills me with JOY? I’ll gladly whip out my post-it notes, meal planning calendar and colorful pens for you anytime.

Homemade Sweet Potato Chips

I CRAVE salty crunchy goodness. These sweet potato chips do the trick without me having to open up a bag of the unhealthy alternatives. Plus, I have my 21 Day Fix portion control container so I won’t overindulge. Which is easy to do because these are SO GOOD!

Ingredients
1-2 small sweet potatoes, washed an dried
1 TBS olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cut the potatoes in 1/4-inch-thick slices (I recommend using a slicer!) In a large bowl, add the oil and seasonings. Add the sliced potatoes and toss to coat. Place in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned and crisp, about 10 minutes.

You can get creative when you make these! Next time I might try a little cinnamon 🙂 Enjoy!

Healthy Pineapple Whip

If you’re looking for a fun and healthy treat this week then you have to try this pineapple whip! It’s only three ingredients and so good. We served my son’s in an ice cream cone and put it in dishes for us adults 😉

Healthy Pineapple Whip

Ingredients
– 1 cup frozen pineapple
– 1/2 cup almond milk
– 1 TBS honey

Directions: Blend ingredients in high speed blender. We use our nutribullet! Serve, enjoy and daydream of summer!

Saying yes to Beachbody coaching

My story begins when a friend posted a picture on Instagram of her 21 Day Fix Challenge pack arriving in the mail. My husband and I wanted a health refresh after having the twins so we put in our order. We figured we’d follow the meal plan, drink our daily Shakeology and sweat out the 30 minute workouts. We’d lose a few pounds and once the 21 days were over we’d move on. The coaching opportunity was mentioned to me a few times throughout the month, but I didn’t think too much about it. Then on day 21 we took our “after” pictures. It is not in my comfort zone to show these before and after photos, but I think it’s important to share my whole story. When the after pictures were taken I was three months postpartum with the twins. These are my results from one round of 21 Day Fix:

The moment I looked at this photo collage I knew I would be saying yes to becoming a Beachbody coach. I knew I wanted other people to feel this way. 21 Day Fix laid out the road map, but I put in the work and these were the results. The group support kept me accountable and I was able to continue breastfeeding my twins because I was getting plenty of calories with the meal plan! There are so many reasons I love this program, but I’ll save that for another post. (Shout out to this amazing group of challengers who loved round one so much that they are now pushing through round two!)

New Year New You

Fast forward a week. I’m hosting my first 21 Day Fix challenge group on February 9th and I couldn’t be more excited to start helping people achieve their fitness goals. As far as the business opportunity I’ve already made enough commissions to pay for our monthly Shakeology supply. That was my original goal…to help people…and break even to be able to pay for our Beachbody orders. Now that I’ve achieved that in just the first week my mind is starting to open up to greater possibilities.
